Hi guys, I'm Zach, the guy who made
Doodle. And today I'm going to show you
how I made it. If any of you guys
wondering, I made this in FL Studio,
which is basically an app to make songs.
As you can see here, there's only 12
instruments in this project, which is
kind of crazy. This beat is really
simple. This beat becomes one of the
biggest sounds on Tik Tok. 2 million
videos, 30 million streams on Spotify.
Okay, let's just get into it. This is
the main lead.
So, this melody was like a random idea I
had on a school holiday. I immediately
turned on my computer. I laid it down. I
love this little stat here. This lead is
also not a preset. I made it with Vital.
This is basically just a mix of square
wave and saw wave and a little bit of
distortion and reverb compressor. Now, I
added this little glide here. I'm just
going to show
you so you'll see the difference.
There's like this glide here makes this
a lead more iconic if that makes sense.
And then there's there's chords right
here. As you can see, there's like a lot
of stutters here, here, and there. I
figure I want to try cutting these
chords rather than just let let it play
long. It's like release Scott piano but
this time with electric piano. This dino
EP Zen Xenology and I added a little bit
of sound good daer EQ covers. I love
this cover and then a little bit of
reverb. This bass is also
Xenology. I just took the bass notes of
the chords and copied them
basically. Moving on, I got these drums
from Sematics. It's also free. And I
just add a little bit of distortion. And
there's this little whistle
here. I personally find this a little
bit annoying, but a lot of people love
this. I do get inspiration of adding
this from Supido by Fuzzy. Another
inspiration I get from that song is how
it starts with a looping part in the
starts like this.
Yeah, this part is like a really big
part of dudu. People dance a lot to this
part. This is like the trending part
basically. Also, I added some strings
and
bells. Yeah, this is all xenology. These
things actually make the song less
empty. I'll show you. Hold.
I'm going to mute
this. Yeah, as you can see. Also,
there's the second part
here. This is from search XT uh my
childhood. I don't know how I got this
part. This is basically just freestyle.
And then we got this another melody, a
different one.
And
then so it it's so iconic. That's pretty
much it. This is Doodle. It still blows
my mind that I made this song all out of
free plugins and samples. Yeah, all free
plugins and samples. Hell, I even made
this song on FL Studio Demo back then.
There was like five K-pop groups dancing
to this song. There was even a meme out
of this. I I did want to have a viral
song, but I didn't expect it to be this
one. When I made this song and then
posted it on my Tik Tok, I actually
didn't want to release it at first
because I don't really like this song,
man. But because of you guys and your
comments, I finally let it out and here
we are. So, that's pretty much it. Thank
