This is a fantastic look
back at your career,
but I want to go right back.
When you first came to London,
I think you started off busking,
And then am I right in thinking
that you were signed by The Beatles?
- Yes, I was.
With the help of some friends,
I made a demo of a couple of my tunes
and we shopped it around.
Eventually, Peter Asher heard it
and he played it for Paul
McCartney and George Harrison.
- That's right.
So, you were recording in
London at the same time?
- Yes, I was recording in Trident Studios
while the lads were
making their White Album,
The White Album.
I was using the...
When they'd finished one
of their marathon sessions,
I'd sort of scurry in
and try to put down a couple of tracks
before they came back.
- It worked out very well.
We've got a bit of footage here,
actually with a rather
appropriate song of that time.
