hi everyone welcome to love and Delight
brought to you by JPS celebrating the
great things happening in the
communities we serve now a lot of people
don't know this but JPS has been around
for over 100 years now the light we work
so hard to spread is not just about the
beautiful lights in your homes no
there's a special group of people an arm
of the company that helps us to brighten
the lives of others by showing love and
showing care they make up the JPS
foundation and their work contributes to
nation building and lifting others up so
today we're going to be hearing exactly
how they do that let's
go what we do at the foundation we have
a lot of fun but seriously we have the
honor of being the Outreach arm of our
parent company JPS one of our key areas
of focus is climate resilience under
that portfolio we do things like beach
cleanups for example on world Wetlands
day we do educational events for example
or climate action conference and we do
donations to other entities who are
interested in environmental projects
Community empowerment is another area of
focus under this area we have a major
project called PowerUp Community Action
we partner with our community renewal
department and another unit at the JPS
to offer residents an opportunity to
enhance their qualifications
specifically in solar and electrical
technology we also offer them
interpersonal skills training that will
prepare them for the workforce also
under Community empowerment are our
annual Labor Day projects each year we
give an opportunity for the general
public to vote on a project that's there
to your heart we also give an
opportunity to one of our PowerUp energ
clubs to suggest a project that they
would want us to assist them in we also
support a project from one of our
volunteers JPS votes so in total each
year we have three Labor Day projects
right across the
island stem education is another area of
focus of the JPS Foundation under this
area of focus we have the power up
Energy Club which has given us the
PowerUp debate competition as well as
the power up Innovation Challenge we
also have have the CET grant for
students doing the electrical exam U
Cape workshop and not to be forgotten
our scholarship program for stem
students in 2024 we invested over $130
million Jamaican dollars in all our
projects impacting over
10,500 Jamaicans JPS Foundation we are
passionate about building thriving

labor of love we're passionate about
Community empowerment we have a great
love for the environment and we are
working hard to ensure that this country
reaps the benefit of Youth Development
