C. I'll often put my thumb over the top
like this just to mute the E string,
which in this case I don't need. It's
quite difficult to stop that open
A. But one way I'm doing it is just as
my finger pops the B to the
C. I'm just allowing my the bottom of
the hand there just to rest on the A and
it will stop
it. Then we have a ghost note. When I'm
playing slap, I'll generally just touch
all the strings with my hand fingers and
thumb. Completely deadens it.
That's the next beat.
Slowly. Then it's
this LH pat. That's left hand pat. As
I'm right-handed player, my left hand is
my fretting hand. I'm just bringing it
down onto the strings. And you get that
sound.
That's what it is. Then you follow it up
with a ghost
note. Then a
C. I don't mind if that open A first one
rings out a bit. Doesn't bother me too
much.
Now this is all A
minor. A B CDE
E. We have the A string
open. So when you're piecing this
together, you might add your own thing
in or make up your own lines. And that's
what I'm doing here is just playing that
scale up across one
string. Hammer ons, pulloffs,
slides with the A string. Sounds really
good.
