We build
walls. We lock
doors. We bury things deep, convincing
ourselves if we cover it well
enough, if we press it down long enough,
it will stay where we put
it. We do this with our
guilt. We do this with our
pain. We do this with the truth.
Because the truth can be
dangerous. It can wreck the world we've
built for ourselves, tear down the lies
we clung to for too long. So, we guard
against it. We stand watch over the
places where we swore we'd never look
again.
And I get it because I was once a
soldier standing in front of a
tomb under orders to keep it
shut. They told us to guard the grave,
lock it down, seal it tight, make sure
no one gets in, make sure nothing gets
out. Like truth can be trapped in
rock. like the one who raised the dead
could be held by death itself. But we
stood
there,
backstraight, sword,
steady, trained men, ready to
fight, but guarding something we didn't
understand. And I told myself, if this
is just another
body, just another
rebel, just another man who made himself
bigger than he was and paid the price
for it. I told myself, "Nothing's coming
out of that
grave." But then the earth
moved. Not a
whisper, not a
shift, a roar.
Like the ground itself was gasping for
air. Like creation had been waiting for
this moment. Like something buried had
had enough of staying dead. The stone
not rolled, not nudged, but thrown aside
as if it was never meant to stay
there. And suddenly everything we
thought was solid cracked wide
open. The tomb is
empty. And when the truth gets out, it
moves
fast. Faster than
fear, faster than
empire, faster than the lies they spread
to keep this from
spreading. Because truth doesn't stay
buried. It walks out of
graves. It appears behind locked doors.
It breathes again in the very places
where death was supposed to
win. And it comes for us
too because some of us have been
standing guard over our own sealed
tombs. The places where we buried
faith, buried
hope, buried the parts of us that dared
to believe in something more. Some of us
have spent years keeping watch over a
lie, afraid of what
happens if the
truth actually breaks
free. But when the truth gets
out, it does not ask for
permission. It wrecks the order of
things. It crumbles kingdoms built on
sand. It takes men like me who follow
orders, men who obey, and leaves us
shaken, unsure of what we've been
standing for all
along. Because I know what I
saw. I know this grave was
full. I know this man was
dead. And yet the body's gone. And
somewhere he's
walking,
breathing,
living, still moving like he always
has. The truth is
out. And now that the truth is out, the
question
is, what will you do when the
truth finds you?
