So on this week we have released the
Space Engineers 2 nearly 12 coros since
Space Engineers first came into my life.
I remember watching the first gameplay
videos in 2013 completely hooked by the
concept. My PC couldn't even run it back
then. But it didn't matter. I knew this
game was something special. And over the
years as the game grew, so did my play
time. Thousand of hours, dozens of
ships, stations, and honestly too many
explosions later, it feels surreal to
finally be here playing the Space
Engineers 2. Almost a whole 12 years
later. Holy crap. I was an early
supporter of Space Engineers one way
back in the 2013 when I got the game and
I was very hopeful for the future and
I'm still am. It's just taking so long
for that whole future to get here. Oh, I
was referring to real life, not the
game. Anyway, I remember the very first
update I witness it, which was when they
added the magentic landing gears. Before
that, they didn't have the covert lines
around them to tell you if you connected
or not. Converse were just the junction
since pipes didn't exist. Guns existed
but didn't work. Antennas existed but
didn't work. Basically nothing worked,
but it was okay. And slowly we got doors
that close it, guns that shoot it
through survival and multiplayer. If you
find my review for Space Engineers one,
you'll find that it's currently set to
negative. And that was because at the
time I envision SA as a different game
than it was becoming. But now Sier 2 is
stated that it's actually going to be
what I hoped for. and I'm so happy to be
here making the launch of the first
public version of
ST2. Now for the review itself, the 25
cm grid is one of the biggest selling
points aside from the graphic of overall
that is as far as the content currently
within the game in the default world you
can make as of now. You will see a few
examples of the new system being taken
advantage of the build pieces that would
even have been impossible in S81 at
least without some messy junky rotator
and piston shin guns and it works. The
game play that is available right now be
exactly the same amount that SC1 had
during its launch aside from one gears
which were out of the gate in this time
and the drills work too but the guns
don't yet. It's very much like a
throwback to those days with the massive
graphical upscaling. Now for the good,
bads, and the bugs. So about the good,
the graphics, obviously. The second is
the controls aren't familiar to those
who play Space Engineers one within a
few differences. Primarily the controls
to rotate blocks. Now about the bats,
the way to pick between the variance of
blocks and the size of blocks in the
same button, which is only level to the
size. So to go from the 0.5 m version of
a block size to the 2.5 m version of
block, you have to cycle through all the
variants of the 0.5 m size. The hot bar
also does not change the graphic the
variant you have selected, but I presume
that will come later, but this one
button delay is annoying. The second is
this is a minor did pick for me but
there is no 0.5 m reactor current in the
game which would be the equivalent of
the small grid small reactor from SCA1
so far there is only the 2.5 m reactor
which would be equivalent to the small
reactor for a large grid and the large
grid large reactor there is no small
grid reactor equivalence I hope this is
not an intentional design change and
they will come in the future. And the
last one, an even more minor nitpick for
me, but the UI lacks the buttons for
things like a jetpack and internal
damping, which is part of it in the SD1.
I know what buttons to press already,
but it would be nice to have them in any
case. Now, about the bugs, I honestly
did not find any so far. the engine
physics and the grid system like a big
improvement so far, but until more
blocks are added fully implemented, it's
similar to how SC1 was when it launched.
You can build things and crash them, but
not a whole lot much else as of release
day. There's a good amount of block
available, but it seems they're not all
fully implemented yet. So, just because
you see something in the pictures, it
doesn't mean it does anything yet.
overall grades, but I'm already excited
for more. And for closing quotes, I
don't have much to say about the game to
be honest. I'm very used to the Space
Engineers one, and I know its quirks,
its features, and so on. So, all of this
feels very natural to me. That being
said, it's pretty much that just
building and smashing your builds
together for now. Know what you're
getting into. It's literally just
launched and it's alpha, not even
better. However, do not fret as this not
a cyberpunk situation. So, thank you
guys for watching this review. Don't

See you.
