And the day that I found it, I'd written
it in West Virginia. Yeah. And I was
looking for songs for the inspirations
and for my first recording and uh it
fell to the floor in uh my office from
some other songs. So I picked it up and
I thought, view the land. Well, I
started going over it and I I'm pretty
sure that that's when I added the last
verse. But anyway, came to church that
night and brother Ralph asked me to sing
and so I just sit down at the piano. I
did a little bit of that old song, It's
Not This Land of Mula. Yeah. And then I
thought, I'm going to sing a little bit
of Sweet Ba land. Yeah. M Stewart, you
know where she said.
Well, about the time we hit the chorus,
I started hearing,
"Woo!" And then I started seeing that
little hand going. Oh my lord. And that
hanky and she was the first one to to to
say amen, so to speak, uh to me about
Oh, you know what? Dad would have loved
this. He said, "Now, I don't like all
that carrying on, but he said, I like
the singing." You know, dad liked that
shape note singing. So, I'm putting this
on in memory of my dad. He loved gospel
music. Taught the shape note style of
music. And I'm going to sing you the
land and ask some folks to join me. What
an honor that they did a tribute
recording to me. And uh many of my
friends, I would just I just couldn't
believe it. Brother Jim Brady put it all
together with the Booth Brothers. folks,
come on up and join me if you would. And
a lot of our other friends, uh, Karen
Peek, the Hoppers, and my goodness, I
don't know who who all joined us. I
didn't know I had so many friends, you
know, and uh, Mark, my my Give them a
hand. What What a precious the wisdom.
